About Gerber

Founded in 1995 by Gerald Joseph, Gerber Finance, is the product of a joint venture between Investec, a member of the London Stock Exchange and the Gerber Goldschmidt Group, a leading international trading and investment company since 1920, was acquired by Global Fund Holdings of Canada in March of 2017.



Our primary focus is the financing of long-term profitable growth. Each credit facility is designed to meet the individual needs of your business, taking into account specifics such as trade cycles, seasonality, customer base and more. Although a dollar amount is set for each line of credit, our size and short lines of communication allow for flexibility when the need arises.

Gerald Joseph

Chief Executive Officer

A Chartered Accountant educated at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. After a stint in the apparel industry, he joined the Gerber Goldschmidt Group in 1982 eventually becoming the CEO of Gerber Goldschmidt Finance, their trade finance arm. Moved to the US in 1994 and founded Gerber Finance shortly thereafter. He sits on a number of boards as non-executive director and shareholder representative.

President

As President, Jennifer is responsible for cultivating new relationships with companies that would benefit from financing with Gerber. As In-House Counsel, Jennifer is able to streamline the documentation process while reducing clients’ costs. Jennifer holds a JD from Fordham Law and a BA from Marist College. She is active in the industry serving on various committees including the Board of Directors of the Commercial Finance Association.

Kevin McGarry

Kevin McGarry

Chief Credit Officer

As Chief Credit Officer, Kevin is responsible for managing Gerber’s diversified loan portfolio focusing on credit quality and client retention. Prior to joining Gerber he was employed by First Capital LLC where he was President of the Factoring Division and Northeast Regional Manager of Asset Based Lending. McGarry is a 38-year veteran of the Factoring and ABL industry and he previously held senior leadership roles at GMAC Commercial Finance, GE Capital Commercial Services, Congress Financial and Heller Financial.

Elena Goynatsky

Senior Vice President

As Senior Vice President of Marketing, Elena is responsible for originating, analyzing and structuring a wide variety of transactions. Elena’s extensive experience in marketing and credit provides her with a unique perspective allowing her to meet the client’s needs. Prior to joining Gerber Finance in 2008, she worked at Wells Fargo and Bank Leumi. She holds a BA in Finance from Baruch College and a BS in Math from Ukrainian State University.

Barry M. Schneck

Senior Vice President

Barry is responsible for covering the New York, New Jersey & Southeast mid-Atlantic regions. Prior to joining Gerber, Barry held senior positions covering the nation. He has spent 45 years focusing on the working capital needs of small to middle market companies. Barry is a member of CFA, TMA, Garden State Credit Associate, AHEPA. Before Joining the industry, Barry graduated – Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.A. in Psychology & minor in Economics.

Entela Semini

Entela Semini

Vice President

Raised in Tirana, Albania, Entela came to the US as an exchange student in 1999. She obtained her BA in Finance from Pace University and joined Gerber Finance in 2006. Entela interfaces on a daily basis with clients dealing with the collateral and financial reporting, borrowing bases, cash flows and ensuring that the system of funding the portfolio is efficient and uncomplicated. Entela is also responsible for managing part of the Gerber portfolio in the capacity of Account Executive.

40 Under 40 Awards - Jennifer Palmer

Jennifer joined Gerber in 2006 as a business development and marketing associate charged with cultivating new relationships with companies that would benefit from financing with Gerber. As a recent law school graduate who had intended on working in art or fashion, she did not expect to work in finance, but was hungry for an entrepreneurial venture where she could truly make her mark.
